Much like the original old masters who painted in caves, I work on beautiful natural stone. It has provided me with exciting and wonderful challenges. On a "treasure hunt" for a perfect stone, a good find elicits a thrill of anticipation that's really motivating. I want to know if the painting in my imagination will turn out well. The patterns, textures and colors of the piece inspire the subject matter which usually includes animals.

After preparing each stone for archival painting (with sand blasting, acid wash, sealing, etc.) I paint in oil using brushes, sponges, q-tips and my fingers to make the oil paint work with this stone. Transparency is key. The stone is the guide. My husband prepares them for hanging.758Goodlookin

With collectors in most U.S. states, China, Saudi Arabia and Canada, with galleries that have sold hundreds of pieces, a supportive family and a compelling love of art I continue to strive for my elusive "perfect painting".

Cattlemen's Art Show has been a consistent, friendly and top selling venue for me!

She is represented by The Seaside Gallery in Pismo Beach, CA and Southwest Roundup Studio Gallery in San Juan Bautista.
